Map Mom was born behind the apron of a stay at home mom and the ramblings of the past art world still swirling around in her mind. Staying at home to care for her two young children Map Mom continued to seek ways to fill their world with art. Map Dad worked briskly behind the keys of a computer desk but craved deeply the smell of sawdust and the reprieve working with wood brought from the daily grind of office life.
Surrounded by their Coastal Charleston life, “quiet time” resulted in therapeutic paintings of crabs, shrimp and a slew of ideas that had been locked away. The first map printed on wood was the result of a simple anniversary gift combining Map Moms love for personalized design and Maps Dads Love for the smell of wood. And the American Dream was born!
Each Map Mom piece is made with love from our family to yours.
